Schedule

Day 1 Izmir

Flight to Izmir via Istanbul. Upon arrive in Izmir, the group will be assisted with securing their luggage andthen transferred to the group hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Izmir & Ephesus

After breakfast, we take a short drive to Ephesus which in the ancient world was a center of travel and commerce. Head back to Izmir for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Pergamon, Troas, Troy, & Canakkale

After early breakfast, we drive to Pergamon, the center of the rule of the Roman Empire. Sites include the Asclepion, the Acropolis with its pagan temples, Alter of Zeus, and the Temple of Trajan. Continue our drive to, Alexandria Troas. This site of an ancient Greek city situated on the Aegean Sea near the northern tip of Turkey’s western coast. From here we continue our drive to Troy

Day 4 Gallipoli & Istanbul

After breakfast, we begin our drive to Istanbul. Our scenic drive will first take us to Gallipoli, the site of the incredible battle played out here during World War I. Here we will cross the Dardanelles and then will proceed to Istanbul.

Day 5 Instabul

After breakfast, we begin our day in Istanbul with a visit to the incredible Blue Mosque with six minarets that dominate the skyline. Before we head to Istanbul Airport will have a Cruise on the Bosphorus with a private Boat. At the end of our full-day touring transfer to Istanbul Airport.

FAQ

Q: What if I am departing from a different city/state than the group?

A: If you live and/or are traveling from another destination than the group, you can request a different departure city and if possible, we will book the domestic flights for you to join the group for the remainder of the travel.

For any domestic departure city requests, please note that they are subject to additional fees outside of the group flight costs. The deadline to submit these departure city requests is the first payment deadline and/or 120 days before the departure date of your trip.

Q: What if I have a medical device? (i.e CPAP, diabetic pump and/or diabetic supplies, etc.)

A: Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be bringing a CPAP machine (or other medical devices), and specifically if you will be using it on the plane. We will provide you with the information you will need to coordinate this with the airline. Call at (501)379-9226 or email our office at friends@travelwithfriends.com.

Q: How do I get my US passport quickly?

Routine: 8 to 11 weeks*

Expedited: Costs an extra $60. Takes 5 to 7 weeks.*

*Processing times begin the day your application is received at a passport agency or center, not the day you mail your application or apply.

Agency or Center: Must have international travel in the next 14 calendar days.

Q: What are the trip payment deadlines?

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Upon registration	$500 deposit due per person
120 days prior to departure date	First payment of $1,000 due per person
90 days prior to departure date	Full payment due per person

Q: Can I use my airline miles to pay for my plane ticket?

A: Since our company books plane tickets on group contracts with the airlines, we are unable to use traveler miles to pay for your ticket. However, if you’d like to use your miles, you can book as a “Land Only” traveler and purchase your own plane tickets with your miles. We will provide you with the flight times and numbers of the group contract so that you can choose flights that line up with the rest of your group.

Q: When will I know the final details of my trip?

We provide every traveler with a traveler packet via mail within roughly 30 days in advance of the departure date. Each packet includes a flight itinerary, travel journal, luggage tags, power outlet adapter, and neck wallet with a name tag. Your tour host will typically communicate the specifics with the group at an informational meeting prior to departure.

Q: What is a single supplement fee and how do I know if I have one?

A: The single supplement charge is the fee that occurs if you are in a single room on a trip. Prices are listed per component upon registration. If you are wanting to be paired with a roommate, we will do our best to find one for you. We cannot guarantee we will find a roommate to pair you with, so we recommend finding someone to room with within your group before you register. The final deadline to find a roommate is the final payment deadline. After that date, the single supplement charge will be applied to your account.

Q: How many suitcases can I bring?

A: You have paid porterage for one suitcase as your checked bag. The airlines will allow one suitcase per traveler (not to exceed 30”x21”x18” and 50 lbs). Be sure all bags are clearly marked with your name and address. Pack any medicine and valuables in your carry-on bag. On most airlines, you are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item such as a small purse. For more information on bag requirements please see the links below specific to the airlines. Remember that you are responsible for your passport and carry-on at all times.

Q: What to do in case of an emergency?

A: If you purchased insurance, contact your insurance provider for your next steps. This is not included in our services nor can it be purchased through Travel with Friends.

Your travel insurance provider will assist you with any reservation services, rental car, closest hotels available, organized transport services, lost passport information, and more travel
related emergencies.

For travel insurance-covered expenses specifically, please call the customer care center of your insurance provider.

“What a trip! Leading up to visiting Israel we were excited with anticipation, but boy did it exceed anything we had imagined. Our tour guide CJ was outstanding. He broke down the Jewish culture, past and modern history, biblical connections/application, and geography of Israel at every site. It was just so awesome with how many sites and artifacts we were shown and how seamlessly our trip was organized. Throughout the week we were taken well care of. We stayed in very nice hotels, ate great food, and enjoyed a comfortable, air-conditioned bus driven by our expert driver, Happy. Happy made sure we stayed hydrated and took extra special care of us in keeping us safe. CJ and Happy complemented each other wonderfully. With packed days of touring, we enjoyed restful evenings. We also felt safe and secure throughout our travels, allowing us to delve fully into what we were learning and what God was teaching us about Himself.
Besides enjoying CJ and Happys sense of humor, we quickly experienced camaraderie between the rest of our group, which made little things like traveling, eating, and taking pictures fun. Thank you all for loving on us; we thank God for you and this short time we were able to connect. And most importantly we thank God as we recognize all the lessons we learned along the way. He definitely used this trip to reveal new things to us as we learned more about the Bible, God, and ourselves.

This was my first time to Isreal, and it was such a fantastic trip due to our guide Adam and our driver Money Mike! Adam is so knowledgeable and was really able to make each site come alive for me. We had a really large group, and I am sure that Adam felt like he was “herding cats” all week, but he kept us together and moving through the areas while sharing so much information. With Mike’s driving and sense of humor, I felt very safe even though the streets sometimes seemed way too narrow for all of the buses and cars! The team of Adam and Money Mike were fabulous, and I would highly recommend them!!

If you’re doing the Holy Land Tour, there’s no question in which company to choose - it’s Travel With Friends! The entire trip was very well planned and wasted no time in getting us in and out of sites while beating the crowds. Ibrahim was a phenomenal guide!
